So you thought there was no snow in the Alps - Well think again, as Courmayeur is knee deep in fresh powder!!

Despite the recently publicity, regarding the lack of snow fall in the Alps this year, we can assure you that the snow is here.  Chamonix received a covering of snow this year, however the nearby resort of Coumayeur had a huge dump of snow.

We skied in Courmayeur yesterday (20 mins drive from the chalet) & the conditions were incredible both off piste, and the pisted runs.  So needless to say we are taking our guests back again today!

So why not mix your ski trip up this year, and visit Chamonix, and Courmayeur!  Or.....just leave all the fresh powder to us ; )

The Freeride World Tour 2011 for male riders will kick off on 22 January 2011 at Chamonix-Mt-Blanc (France). Chamonix is arguably the world's most renowned alpine resort and a Mecca for freeriding.

Host of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, skiers and snowboarders come from all over the world to take on its vast range of steep slopes.., With 4810-meter Mont Blanc as the perfect backdrop, local favourite and former Freeride World Champion Aurélien Ducroz will be looking to fend off 2010 World Champion and former X-Games star Candide Thovex on the magnificent Hotel Face at the Brévent ski station.

Yes Polo in the snow!

The Polo Masters World Cup comes to Megeve this weekend 21st January - 24th January, after visiting Val d'sere last weekend, and then Courcheval 28th January.

So if you fancy something different, Megeve is only 30 minutes drive from Chamonix.....

The final French stage will take place in Chamonix from 29th to 30th January 2011.

This is one of the most famous stages of the competition with the men's downhill run on the Kandahar piste being a real spectator event; expect to see fans lining the piste all the way down, clanging cowbells and blasting away on Alpine horns!

Highlights from the weekend will be screened in Chamonix in front of the tourist office in the evening and there will be a ceremony for all who competed.

Well today is the last day of 2010!

We have had some fantatic weather here in Chamonix this week, blue skies & sunshine most days, and not too cold either - so not so many cappucino or Vin Chaud breaks needed!! : ))

Wishing everyone a great 2011 for tomorrow....
