The easiest access to Chamonix is via Geneva Airport, Chamonix has the benefit of short transfer times, with it only taking 1 hour to reach Chamonix from Geneva Airport.

If choosing to stay with Icona fully catered, our transportation will be available to transfer you to and from the Chalet, or alternatively if you prefer you can hire a car from all the main agencies within the terminal at Geneva Airport, however we strongly recommend that you hire your car from the FRENCH side of Geneva Airport, as this is much more cost effective.

You can take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris and connect for St-Gervais-Les-Bains, where you change to the Mont Blanc Express to Chamonix (Rail Europe: 0870 830 4932) . Or take Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais and drive  www.eurotunnel.com.

Driving to Chalet Anchorage:

When driving from Geneva or the UK:  You will need to the follow all the signs to Chamonix/Mont Blanc, and from Geneva you will pass through 2 road tolls on the Blanche Autoroute.  After passing the 2nd toll you will then start to climb up through the valley to Chamonix.

As you carry on along the main road to Chamonix, you will pass under 2 tunnels, and you will then see a sign to Les Houches, carry on along the road,  you will need to take the next (2nd) turning on the right to Les Houches/Taconnaz/Coupeau.  After 200m you will reach a small roundabout, turn left here (2nd) turning. Follow the road along, past the shops and Super U on your right, after passing the Renault garage on the right, there will be a green signpost to Chamonix, take this turning on the right. 

Then take the 2nd right turning - signposted Le Bois Rond & Taconnaz, go up the hill, past the stop sign & poubelles, carry on for another 300m, you will then see a sign for Icona & 6 postboxes on the left side, turn left down Chemin du bois de la bossenaz.

Chalet Anchorage is at the end of the lane.
