Terms and Conditions
Contract
Please read these conditions carefully and retain for future reference as they form the basis of your contract between Icona and the client. A contract will only exist when we have received from you a completed and signed booking form, your deposit, and we have sent to you confirmation of your booking and invoice.
The cost of your holiday and what it includes
Prices are per person or for the entire chalet and are based on two people sharing one room. If you are travelling alone a supplement may be payable (see below). A standard winter holiday (Sunday to Sunday or Thursday to Sunday) with Icona includes: 7 nights accommodation, 7 breakfasts and 6 evening meals with house wine. Our holiday prices DO NOT include your personal insurance, travel costs, i.e. flights, ferry crossings. The costs of lift passes, lunches, insurance, ski lessons, equipment hire etc. are NOT included. Ski passes, ski and boot hire and ski lessons can be booked when you make your holiday booking. If requested the above will be added to your final holiday confirmation. The full cost of which must be paid with the full balance of your total holiday cost.
Pricing detials
- All payments will be taken in £ Sterling
- All prices per person are based upon a minimum of two people sharing an ensuite room on a fully catered basis.
- Children under the age of two will be free of charge if sharing with two full paying adults
- Children under the age of 12 sharing a room with 1 adult or another child will be discounted by 20%
- Children of 12 and above will be charged at the full rate
- Sole occupancy a premium of 60% of the room rate will be added to rooms booked on a sole occupancy basis
Age restrictions
Bookings can only be accepted for persons under 18 years of age when accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. The parent or legal guardian must countersign bookings in respect of persons 16-18 years of age.
Resort prices
Any indicated prices for activities, equipment hire, instruction and ski passes were as accurate as possible at the time of publication. We cannot accept any responsibility for any variation between that time and the date of your holiday.
Cancellation
By You:
- More than 56 days prior to the start of your holiday loss of your deposit
- 56-29 days 50% of the value of your holiday
- 28-15 days 70% of the value of your holiday
- Less than 15 days the full value of your holiday
By Icona:
We reserve the right to make alterations to our website and holiday details before and after bookings have been confirmed. Should these be significant changes we will notify you as soon as possible and you may accept to cancel your holiday and receive a full refund. In the unlikely event reasons beyond our control or for reasons of "force majeure" it may be necessary for us to cancel a confirmed holiday for which we must reserve the right to do so. If we do so you will receive a full refund of all monies paid or rebook your holiday for an additional date, refunding you any difference in price. We can accept no legal liability and will pay no compensation
Force Majeure
We regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by 'force majeure'. In these booking conditions, 'force majeure' means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.
Holiday Duration
Unless otherwise agreed by special arrangements all holidays run from either Sunday to Sunday or Thursday to Sunday. Your rooms will be ready of occupation usually from 15:00 and you will be expected to vacate your room by 10:30am on your date of departure.
Special Requirements
Should you have any special requirements, dietary or other, please advise Icona at the time of making your booking , we will do our utmost to meet your requirements. Written confirmation will be provided confirming our ability to comply with your wishes, only at the stage of written confirmation will they form part of our contract with you (the client).
Insurance/Liability
Skiing and Snowboarding carries an element of danger and all clients must be covered by their own appropriate insurance policy. If you are likely to participate in other activities available in the resort (e.g. tobogganing, paragliding, or snow-mobiling etc.), please make sure the insurance includes full cover for all the activities that you may participate in. It is an essential condition of booking your holiday that you take out adequate holiday insurance to our reasonable satisfaction. We will ask you to let us have evidence of the insurance at the time of booking. We reserve the right to terminate your booking if you fail to obtain travel insurance. However, it is the responsibility of you and all members of your party to ensure the insurance cover purchased is suitable and adequate for your particular requirements. We cannot be responsible for your costs if you fail to do so.
Icona accepts no responsibility for the acts or omissions of its clients, whether negligent or otherwise, and shall not be held liable for any claims made against them.
Lost & Stolen Property:
Icona will not be held responsible
for any theft or loss of personal possessions from our premises or vehicles.
Whilst Icona will endeavour to ensure the security of guests' personal
possessions, Icona cannot guarantee it. It is up to the group leader to
ensure that each member of the party is responsible for the safety of all their
own personal possessions, documents and equipment. No responsibility or
liability is or will be accepted in respect of such items. All clients should
ensure their health and possessions are covered by personal travel insurance.
General
Unless you have booked the chalet completely, other guests may be staying at the chalet at the same time.
We want all our clients to have an enjoyable holiday. We expect all clients to have consideration for other people.. It is expected that all guests will behave in a reasonable manner, allowing all guests to enjoy their stay with us, should any guests behaviour be deemed as unsociable, or abusive to ourselves or other guest we reserve the right to cancel the remainder of their holiday without any further Contractual obligations to ourselves
Should any client damage any property belonging to Icona, we (Icona) reserve the right to claim back from the client costs or charges incurred to repair the damage wither caused accidentally or not
For the comfort of all guests the chalet operates a no smoking policy.
We also do not permit take away food inside the chalet.
Skiing/Guiding
We are neither insured or qualified to instruct or guide parties, if you ski with any representative of our company you do so at your own risk, we will not take responsibility for any injuries however caused. Ski/Snowboard guiding is offered as a free service. It is the clients' responsibility to make their own judgements as to their individual abilities.
Please note that to comply with French regulations the ski guiding does not form part of your holiday contract or cost. We reserve the right to withdraw the service at any time. All clients ski/snowboard, at their own risk. Icona cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injury however caused. We reserve the right to restrict the size of any ski-guiding group. Should this service not be available at any time we cannot be held responsible.
Transfers
Transfers are included in the price of your holiday. The chalet vehicles are a gratuitous service provided to our clients, that is not part of the holiday cost. Icona takes no responsibility for death or personal injury caused through the use of this service. In the event of bad weather, breakdown, illness, accident, Icona cannot guarantee that the resort vehicles will be available to transport guests around the resort and Icona will be under no obligation to provide free alternative transport. The Chamonix valley has a public bus system free for anyone with a ski pass. Clients travelling in Icona vehicles do so at their own risk.
Icona holiday's start and finish where stated on your invoice. We are not responsible for your travel to or from this point or for any expenses, including travel accommodation, subsistence and loss of earnings, caused by delayed return to your departure point, howsoever caused. Icona will endeavour at all times to maintain their carriers schedule, but there may be delays due to circumstances beyond the control of the carrier or Icona. Examples of such delays can be caused by bad weather conditions, strikes or road traffic conditions. Icona will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from delays whatever the cause.
Parents are asked to supply and fit car seats for small children where required. Transport around the resort during the holiday is at the discretion of Icona.
Amendments to requirements
Should you have any amendments to your requirements please advise in writing as soon as possible, any reduction in numbers will be treated in line with our cancellation policy. We will confirm the new arrangements to you in writing as soon as possible.
Passport, visa and health requirements
We cannot accept any liability if you are refused entry onto a flight or into any country due to failure on your part to carry the correct passport, visa or other documents required by any airline or authority. Requirements may change and you should check the up-to-date position with the passport office. Before travelling you are advised to check with your own doctor for your own medical requirements
Complaints
The enjoyment of your holiday is of paramount importance to us, therefore should you have any complaints please advise us immediately and we will do our utmost to resolve the complaint there and then. Any complaint that we do not manage to resolve immediately should be put in writing to Icona, Chalet Anchorage, Chemin du bois de la Bossenaz, 74310 Les Houches, Chamonix, France, within 28 days of your scheduled return date.
Jurisdiction
The laws of France shall govern this contract and exclusive jurisdiction is conferred on the English Courts.
